Biography
I earn my bowl of rice and beans as a software engineer (please click here to visit my programming site and to learn more about my alter ego) but at university (McMaster and Dalhousie) I studied literature and philosophy and I continue to write and explore the world of ideas.
At The Humber School For Writing I studied with novelist Michael Helm. My short story, The Solitaire, won an honourable mention in the Niagara Branch of the Canadian Authors Association Annual Short Story Competition and was published in their Ten Miles High anthology October, 2010. Another story, Truth, was published in the summer of 2011 in the Quarc issue of The New Quarterly. A poem and short story are forthcoming in the All That Not Forgotten
anthology to be published fall 2012 by Hidden Brook Press.
My debut novel, The Last Stoic, a story about appetite and fear, modern and ancient, edited by Helen Humphreys, was released in June, 2011 by Hidden Brook Publishing (http://www.hiddenbrookpress.com/).
I live in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, with my wife and son, next to the best fresh-water sailing in the world.
